Finast prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body. DHT is involved in the development of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Finast is used to treat symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate.
Finast may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide.


Finast Tablets - Dosage
Use Finast as directed by your doctor.

The recommended dosage, for men only, is one 5-milligram tablet per day.
You may take Finast either with a meal or between meals.
Continue to use Finast even if you feel well. Do not miss any doses.
Using Finast at the same time each day will help you to remember.

Drug Class and Mechanism
Finast is an enzyme inhibitor. It works by lowering levels of a hormone called DHT (dihydrotestosterone), which is a major cause of prostate growth; lowering DHT leads to shrinkage of the enlarged prostate gland.
